Position Overview
The Technical Business Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define, document, and communicate requirements for technology solutions in a cost-effective and technically feasible manner. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile/Scrum environments, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Understand business unit processes, goals, and dependencies to support solution design
Gather, analyze, document, and validate complex business and technical requirements
Create business process maps, workflows, use cases, functional specifications, wireframes, mockups, and user stories
Participate in QA activities, define test cases, and support UAT efforts
Develop and maintain Agile Product Backlogs with acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements
Facilitate backlog grooming and sprint planning sessions
Support development teams by clarifying requirements and minimizing delivery delays
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of experience as a Technical/Business Analyst
3+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business and system requirements
Experience working with complex, cross-system and cross-domain requirements
Ability to read and write basic SQL statements
Knowledge of relational databases and database structures
Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
Preferred Skills
Power BI experience
Knowledge of Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET)
SharePoint experience
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server / Services
Application development experience in government or education environments
Scrum and/or IIBA certification
