Data Conversion Specialist/Technical Data Lead

Role Summary:

The Data Conversion Specialist leads and executes the conversion of data from legacy systems and external sources into the new PAS system. The role requires deep understanding of data migration best practices, conversion scripting, and reconciliation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the System Integrator and Fund staff on data conversion strategy.

Convert data from external sources to staging tables or PAS-compatible formats.

Develop and deliver the Data Conversion Plan, detailing:

Conversion phases,

Roles and responsibilities,

Tools and reconciliation techniques,

Testing and QA processes.

Execute and refine data conversion scripts for test and production environments.

Perform data validation, logic checks, and reconciliation.

Document and fix bugs identified during conversion testing.

Support “bridging” scripts and parallel testing environments.

Create automated comparison reports between legacy and PAS system.

Attend PAS design sessions to stay informed on data requirements.

Provide post-production support for data-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Data Engineering, or related discipline.

5+ years of data conversion/migration experience.

Proficiency in SQL, ETL tools, and data transformation scripting.

Experience with legacy and modern pension/ERP systems.

Strong knowledge of reconciliation and balancing techniques.

Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Experience in government or pension administration projects is a plus.
