This is an in-person role in our Bingham Farms MI, office - Huntington Technology – Managed IT Services
Position Overview
Huntington Technology is seeking a Technical Delivery Manager to lead our project engineering team and oversee the successful delivery of all client projects. This role is both people manager and delivery owner. You will directly manage a team of 4–6 System Engineers (with planned growth), guide technical direction when needed, and ensure all projects and escalations are executed efficiently, professionally, and on time.
This is not a passive coordination role. The Technical Delivery Manager is expected to understand infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and security well enough to step in, guide next steps, and course-correct projects or communications when needed.
Projects range from new client onboardings and office relocations to server and firewall migrations, wireless upgrades, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint projects, and broader infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
Directly manage 4–6 System Engineers, including quarterly check-ins, annual reviews, performance coaching, and career development.
Approve PTO, participate in hiring and termination decisions, and maintain accountability for team performance.
Foster a culture of ownership, documentation discipline, and strong client communication.
Project & Delivery Oversight
Maintain visibility into all active projects and escalations across the engineering team.
Ensure projects are progressing on schedule, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.
Identify delivery risks early and take corrective action before issues escalate.
Guide engineers on technical direction when projects stall or require higher-level input.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Participate in client meetings, project calls, and QBRs as needed.
Act as a communication bridge when delivery concerns arise or when escalations require leadership involvement.
Maintain professional, proactive communication with clients throughout project lifecycles.
Scoping & Procurement Collaboration
Assist with project scoping and technical discovery.
Consolidate technical details from engineers and prepare clear handoffs for procurement and quoting teams.
Occasionally lead highly technical scoping efforts when complexity requires senior oversight.
Documentation & Process Discipline
Ensure time entries, project notes, and technical documentation are accurate and up to date.
Reinforce internal standards for documentation, ticket hygiene, and project tracking.
Drive continuous improvement in delivery workflows and internal processes.
Vendor & Internal Coordination
Interface with vendors, distributors, and third-party partners as needed for project execution.
Collaborate with internal service desk, procurement, and leadership teams to maintain smooth project flow.
Success Metrics (KPIs)
Performance in this role is measured by:
On-time and on-budget project completion rates
Documentation completeness and accuracy
Engineer utilization and delivery throughput
Client satisfaction and feedback (CSAT)
Reduction in delivery escalations and communication breakdowns
Qualifications
Experience
5+ years in IT project delivery, technical operations, or engineering leadership.
Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and client-facing projects simultaneously.
Prior experience within a Managed Service Provider environment strongly preferred.
Experience with Kaseya tool stack (Autotask, Datto, ITGlue, etc) strongly preferred.
Technical Competency
Working knowledge of:
Microsoft 365 / SharePoint environments
Server migrations and infrastructure upgrades
Firewalls, networking, and wireless deployments
Cloud platforms and cybersecurity fundamentals
Ability to guide engineers and troubleshoot at a high level when necessary.
Leadership & Communication
Proven ability to manage and motivate technical teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfortable leading client calls and executive-level discussions.
Organizational & Analytical Skills
Exceptional prioritization and time-management ability.
Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects without losing visibility.
KPI-driven mindset focused on measurable outcomes.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
PMP, ITIL, or equivalent certifications are beneficial but not required.
What Success Looks Like

Projects move forward without constant executive intervention.
Clients feel informed and confident during delivery.
