    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Reports to:

    Director of Engineering (Mechanical Engineer) and International Sales Manager

    Location: Cedar Grove, NJ

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Enablement & Solutions Engineer to serve as a strategic technical resource supporting both Engineering and Sales.

    This role is responsible for evaluating customer applications, supporting pre-sales technical activities, and ensuring opportunities are properly qualified before Engineering engagement. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and cross-functional collaboration skills to help improve sales efficiency, technical accuracy, and customer experience.

    In addition to customer and sales support, this role will actively contribute to engineering initiatives including research and development (R&D), product improvement projects, testing, and validation activities. This position offers an opportunity to directly influence both customer success and product innovation.

    Essential Functions:

    Technical Sales & Application Support

    Partner with Sales to evaluate customer requirements, specifications, and applications

    Recommend appropriate product solutions based on technical fit and feasibility

    Support complex technical discussions during pre-sales opportunities

    Review opportunities to ensure proper qualification before Engineering involvement

    Engineering Coordination

    Serve as a technical bridge between Sales and Engineering

    Ensure Engineering resources are focused on qualified, high-value opportunities

    Communicate technical requirements clearly across teams

    Technical Support & Troubleshooting

    Provide advanced technical support to customers, distributors, and internal teams

    Troubleshoot application and product-related issues

    Escalate complex technical challenges as appropriate

    Support distributor technical enablement by identifying recurring knowledge gaps and contributing to the development of application-based training resources

    Advanced Quoting & Proposal Support

    Assist with technically complex quotations and configurations

    Validate technical accuracy of proposals and product selections

    RMA Analysis & Product Evaluation

    Support investigation of returned products and root cause analysis

    Partner with Quality and Engineering on corrective actions and continuous improvement

    Engineering Projects & Innovation

    Participate in engineering projects, including but not limited to:

    Research & Development (R&D)

    Product enhancements and optimization

    Product testing and validation

    Technical documentation and process improvement initiatives

    Training & Technical Enablement

    Develop technical documentation, product guides, and FAQs

    Support training initiatives for internal teams, customers, and channel partners

    Help create scalable resources that improve efficiency and reduce repetitive inquiries

    Systems & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    Maintain technical activity and key insights in HubSpot

    Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Customer Care

    Skills/Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

    3+ years of experience in applications engineering, technical support, solutions engineering, or similar role

    Strong technical aptitude with ability to evaluate complex applications

    Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

    Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

    Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced environments

    Experience with CRM systems; HubSpot experience preferred

    Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
