OVERVIEW: As the Technical Lead for Facility Operations, you are the principal architect of SILTT’s physical infrastructure doctrine. This role serves as the company’s ultimate technical authority for facility maintenance (MEP), infrastructure recapitalization, and site safety standards. You are responsible for transforming complex engineering designs into the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and "Maintenance Battle Books" that ensure 100% uptime across our global portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Operational Launch & Excellence (OLE), you lead an elite team of Principal Facility Technicians specializing in HVAC, Critical Power, and Controls, ensuring that every SILTT or Customer facility is operated with the same elite precision, regardless of where it sits on the map.

WHO WE ARE: At SILTT we’re pushing the limits of infrastructure innovation in the Telecommunications and Information Technology industry. From delivering world-class modular data center facilities to all-hours, 365-day operational response and disaster recovery, our multi-functional team of experts are force multipliers across the infrastructure landscape. We pride ourselves in leading from the front to advise, assist, and accompany our clients through their toughest technological and operational challenges. We always deliver results (spelled “re-SILTTs”)!

WHY SILTT? At SILTT, “objective-driven” means first being “people-driven”. As a small business we know that the ability to achieve our mission demands we take care of our own by providing our team members with a variety of benefits that allow them to live fulfilling, healthy, balanced, meaningful lives. That’s why we believe in offering paid healthcare, ultra-competitive 401K matching, accrued paid time off and fixed holiday leave, continuous learning and professional development incentives, and promote a sustainable work-life balance.

A CALL TO ACTION: SILTT is scaling into high-consequence environments where "good enough" maintenance is a catastrophic risk. To support our global footprint, we must move beyond localized knowledge and establish a Technical Franchise Model. We need a leader who can bridge the gap between "Constructed" and "Operated." You are being hired to codify our institutional knowledge into a global Center of Excellence. By building the training programs and maintenance standards today, you ensure that our facility technicians across the globe are executing the same world-class protocols, backed by your team of Principal Facility Technicians.

A DAY IN THE LIFE: Your role is a high-level blend of engineering oversight, doctrinal authorship, and elite technical mentorship. On any given day, you might:

Draft a Global Preventative Maintenance (PM) Standard for a new liquid-cooling topology, ensuring the procedure is safe, repeatable, and optimized for long-term system health.

Mentor your Principal Technicians (SMEs in Electrical, HVAC, and Controls) as they develop a "First-of-a-Kind" (FOAK) evaluation for a new high-efficiency chiller system.

Coordinate a "Tiger Team" deployment of Principal Technicians to a site experiencing complex power-quality issues, providing "Warrant Officer" level intervention and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Review Fit-Out and Recapitalization Plans for an aging facility, ensuring the engineering specifications meet current SILTT operational doctrine before work begins.

Design a Facility Operations Training Module to certify site-level personnel on Emergency Power Off (EPO) protocols and specialized MEP recovery procedures.

Serve as the primary technical resource during the commissioning of a new facility, verifying that the physical "Landing" meets the elite standards your division has set.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Doctrine & Standardization (The Institutional Brain):

Develop and own all internal Policies, Processes, and Procedures (P3) for global facility operations, MEP maintenance, and infrastructure upkeep.

Establish the "Gold Standard" for Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) and SOPs, ensuring they are technically rigorous and field-executable.

    1. Subject Matter Expertise & Pillar Management:

Act as the Senior Technical Authority for all facility-related systems, including High-Voltage Power, UPS, Generators, HVAC, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Directly manage a team of Principal Technicians, fostering their growth as niche experts and ensuring their skills are utilized as a global resource.

    1. Franchise Training & Readiness:

Architect the Facility Operations Training Program used to certify the Integrated Operations teams at each site.

Lead the "Train-the-Trainer" model, ensuring Principal Technicians are effectively transferring knowledge to site-level leads during facility launches.

    4.Field Services & Project Coordination:

Serve as the Primary Program Manager for short-term facility field services, including MEP upgrades, infrastructure recapitalization, and site fit-outs.

Act as the technical Customer POC for facility health, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    5.Governance & Evaluation:

Own the development of internal KPIs for facility health, maintenance compliance, and safety performance across the global sites.

Lead continuous improvement efforts by acting as the feedback loop between field failures and the Build Delivery & Engineering division.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

12+ years of experience in mission-critical facility operations (Data Centers, Power Plants, or high-consequence Industrial environments).

Deep technical mastery of MEP systems, including redundant power distribution, backup generation, and advanced cooling (Air/Liquid).

5+ years in a senior technical leadership role managing specialized technicians or engineers.

Proven experience in technical writing, specifically the development of complex EOPs and maintenance playbooks.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Master’s degree in Engineering or Technical Management.

Experience building a Center of Excellence or a technical "Franchise" training model in a rapid-growth environment.

High level of business acumen with experience managing O&M or field-service contracts.

    Military Experience preferred.

ABILITY TO WORK REMOTE: Hybrid. The work associated with this role is preferred to be performed on-site at SILTT HQ in Leesburg, VA, though may be performed from home at times. As projects ramp up, this role may require up to 25% travel to meet with key stakeholders, customers, attend conferences, and conduct in-person training and evaluations on-location at various project sites worldwide.

Flexible work from home options available.
