Mechanical Engineer Algonquin, IL

Currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to fill an opening with a company in Algonquin, IL. Interested candidates should have at least three years of experience in a machining environment within manufacturing.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer

• Identify the different types of cutting tools used for CNC machining on Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centers
• Automate the shop floor by being responsible for CAPEX for new machinery
• Be responsible to design tooling, attribute gages, fixtures and jigs for use in a machining environment
• Serve as the liaison with outside suppliers of tooling
• Ideally, program in G code, M code, SmartCAM, MasterCAM or Partmaker or be willing to be trained to program
• Be responsible for productivity improvements, methods improvements and cost reductions
• Handle Corrective Actions and assist with FMEA's to drive the quality control plans

Requirements of the Mechanical Engineer

• At least three years of Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering experience in manufacturing
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering type of technical discipline is required
• Tool and Die Maker or CNC machining experience is a plus

Compensation for the Mechanical Engineer

The targeted annual base salary for this first shift position ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 depending on experience.
