    Job Description

    This is a hybrid role based at the client site in South San Francisco, CA.

    You will be supporting a distributed development team, but working with key stakeholders primarily based in the South San Francisco office. The best estimate is 60% remote work, with onsite presence expected at our South San Francisco campus for at least 2 days per week.

    There is some flexibility, but the role is primarily based on standard 9:00am - 5:00pm Pacific Time working hours.

    Key Responsibilities

    As part of our platform team, you will ensure alignment with user needs and business goals, driving value for our scientific stakeholders:

    • You are driving execution, project management, and delivery for the cloud Container Orchestration Platform that hosts our ML applications.
    • You are partnering with collaborators (users, developers, engineers, AI scientists, etc.) to capture and prioritize requirements
    • You manage the execution of platform design, development, and deployment activities, ensuring project plans, timelines, and deliverables meet requirements for scalability, security, and performance.
    • You build positive relationships with collaborators, including users, development teams, operations, architects, and other platform teams.
    • You help to define and track key performance indicators to measure platform effectiveness.
    • You deliver best-in-class Kubernetes solutions, and provide compelling narratives to communicate platform value and delivery status to stakeholders.

    Who You Are

    You are a Technical Project Manager, Product Manager, or Technical Leader with proven experience driving cloud-based platforms at scale. You thrive at the intersection of technology, strategy, delivery, and impact, shaping world-class infrastructure for innovative applications.

    • Knowledgeable about AWS, cloud computing, and container orchestration (EKS, Kubernetes, Docker), and the use of these technologies to build scalable, resilient platforms.
    • Proven ability to manage project alignment across multiple stakeholders and implement with precision.
    • Outstanding communication and coordination skills, effectively partnering with engineers and cross-functional teams.
    • Passionate about delivering innovative, high-performance platforms that empower scientific breakthroughs.
    • Strong expertise in technical project management, focused on platform delivery and optimization across areas like API design, scalability, and cost optimization.

    You have a track record of building and scaling cloud platforms in sophisticated, research-intensive environments. You thrive on solving challenging technical problems and bridging the gap between scientific discovery and innovative infrastructure.

    • Experience (6+ years) in biotech, pharma, or scientific computing environments, supporting advanced research and innovation.
    • Familiarity with FinOps principles and practices.
    • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker and cloud architectures.
    • Familiarity with ML infrastructure, including model training, deployment, and GPU-based workloads.
    • Understanding of security, compliance, and access control for containerized environments.
