Technical Project Manager – Manufacturing Systems
    Newark, NJ
    $70,000 – $120,000

    Schedule:

    Friday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Winter) / 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM (Summer)

If production slows down because of systems, this role fixes it.

We are hiring a Technical Project Manager to sit inside the manufacturing environment and drive execution of system upgrades, feature requests, integrations, and production-impacting technology initiatives.

This is not an IT help desk role. You will be on the floor, in conversations, and responsible for keeping projects moving.

    About the Role

You will act as the operational bridge between Production, Operations, Engineering, and internal tech teams. Your job is to eliminate ambiguity, push projects forward, and make sure system changes actually support the shop.

When a bug affects production, you don’t wait. When a feature request stalls, you follow up. When requirements are unclear, you clarify them.

This role requires presence, persistence, and structured follow-through.

    What You’ll Own

    • Tracking and driving all shop-related system projects and enhancements
    • Translating production needs into clear, actionable technical requirements
    • Managing timelines and cross-team accountability
    • Escalating production-impacting issues quickly
    • Coordinating system upgrades, integrations, and workflow improvements
    • Verifying bug fixes in real production environments
    • Maintaining clear documentation of scope, ownership, and status
    • Ensuring adoption and proper system usage on the floor

    Must-Haves

    • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
    • Background in project coordination, systems implementation, or operations management
    • Strong execution mindset with proven follow-through
    • Ability to communicate clearly between technical teams and shop-floor operators

    Nice-to-Haves

    • Exposure to ERP, MES, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing software systems
    • Experience supporting integrations between operational systems
    • Familiarity with workflow mapping or process improvement initiatives
    • Technical aptitude to understand system architecture at a practical level

    What Success Looks Like

    First 90 Days
    • Gain full understanding of current systems and shop workflows
    • Establish visible tracking for all active tech projects
    • Resolve key production-impacting system issues

    First 6 Months
    • Improve turnaround time on feature requests and bug fixes
    • Strengthen communication flow between tech and production teams
    • Reduce recurring system-related disruptions
    • Build a structured, accountable project tracking process

If you have manufacturing experience and are confident driving technical projects to completion without letting things stall, we want to hear from you. If you meet most of the core requirements and take ownership seriously, apply.
