Technical Sales & Support Specialist (Moisture Sensor Technology)
Full-time | Salary + Commission | Travel Required
With the technology we offer, there is a definite learning curve. But, if you're the kind of person who enjoys digging into new technology, solving problems for customers, and making an impact, all while having the opportunity to make great income and travel North America.
About the Role:
We’re looking for someone who can wear two hats: sales and technical support. You’ll help customers understand how our near-infrared (NIR) moisture sensors can improve their production process, and you'll also be the go-to person when they need technical support, as well as installation questions. This isn't just order-taking — you'll be part educator, part problem-solver, and part trusted advisor, as well as once you are fully trained, looking for an independent thinker and being self-motivated to grow your customer base.
Our tech isn’t plug-and-play. It takes time and dedication to learn, but once you’re up to speed, you’ll be able to provide real value to customers — and that’s what makes this role so rewarding as they will continue to buy more.
What You’ll Do:
Work directly with customers (remotely and on-site) to support both sales and technical troubleshooting of our moisture sensor systems
Learn and explain how our near-infrared sensing technology applies to different industries and applications
Create customer quotes, respond to technical questions, and build trusting relationships
Travel with our sales team (initially for training purposes, then on your own) to visit customer sites, attend trade shows, and conduct product demos
Guide customers through setup, calibration adjustments, and ongoing use of the equipment
Coordinate internally with engineering, production, and sales to deliver the best solution for the customer
Perform light electronic repairs (basic wiring/connection troubleshooting) — no advanced circuitry required, just a solid understanding of physical setups
Maintain CRM records (Zoho) and pursue inbound sales leads
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Strong communication and customer service skills — you’re able to build trust and simplify complex topics
A technical mindset — you may not be an engineer, but you’re curious and not afraid to get hands-on
Willingness to learn — our technology takes time to understand, and we’ll train you, but you’ve got to put in the effort
Basic understanding of electrical connections or industrial equipment is a big plus
Must be comfortable with a lot of travel — both domestically for customer visits/demos and trade shows
Strong organization and follow-up habits
Ability to handle multiple projects, customers, and follow-ups with attention to detail
Strong self-drive once trained to build your own travel plans and customer visits. The more you travel and visit potential customers, the more opportunities you have to make money. We don't want to continuously have to help create trips for you.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience in industrial sales, technical sales, or instrumentation
Background in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial systems
Familiarity with NIR technology
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Requirements:
3+ years in sales or customer-facing roles
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Business, or related field)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general comfort with tech tools
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods during customer visits or trade shows
