Technical Service Representative - Packaging - Base Salary to 120k/year - Carolinas

They are a leader in the flexible packaging industry and serve a wide range of clients specializing in flexographic, rotogravure, digital printing, multi-ply extrusion, and lamination of film, paper, and foil – as well as pouch and bag fabrication to meet the needs of their clients. They have state of the art equipment in their 6 facilities throughout the Midwest and Northeast.
  
• In this role the Technical Service Representative will provide technical assistance to sales, marketing, and operations, and visit end-user and internal company plants for film trials, packaging equipment audits, quality issues and train operators and support staff on equipment. This role also works with maintenance and engineers on all technical aspects of films and laminates and advises customers on technical service and machines on improved methods for using and maintaining films. Candidates can reside anywhere in North or South Carolina for full consideration for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate customer complaints promptly and efficiently and ensure follow through to resolution in an expeditious manner.
  
• Travel to customer locations to investigate performance issues, isolate defective material, provide recommended corrective resolution and complete required documentation regarding the issue.
  
• Complete, coordinate, and ensure that all documentation regarding customer complaints, defects and related samples are compiled and provided to appropriate divisions/departments in timely manner.
  
• Obtain specification information for each trial prior to evaluating performance of material on customer equipment.
  
• Coordinate travel to existing and potential accounts to conduct machine audits and collect performance information prior to the shipments of trial rolls. Ensure the distribution of the collected information to the appropriate Technical Department personnel.
  
• Coordinate and ensure timely delivery of trial structures to the customer prior to the scheduled machine trial.
  
• Ensure the distribution of reports and all related documentation to appropriate divisions, departments and individuals.
  
• Schedule periodic customer facility service calls and ensure related communications with the appropriate Account Manager regarding scheduled timing of the customer visit.
  
• Coordinate all activities related to customer service calls to: ensure quality service to address customer needs, cultivate strong relationships with packaging department personnel, research and analyze business position relative to its competitors, evaluate the condition/quality of materials, identify any performance issue with supplied material through contact with machine operators achieving pro-active potential problem solving, and develop and distribute required documentation and distribute to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years hands on experience in printing/laminating/converting/pouch making/finishing.
  
• 5+ years hands on experience in Flexible pkg equipment = VFFS/HFFS - repairing/rebuilding/servicing-training.
  
• Ability to travel throughout the Carolina’s to service clientele 3 days a week/ 2 remote.
  
• Experience with flexible packaging equipment – all HFFS/VFFS equipment function and performance troubleshooting skills
  
• Experience with flexible packaging printing/converting – rotogravure printing, flexographic printing, roll stock converting, pouch and bag making.
  
• Strong knowledge of materials.
