  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    This role will support the Technical Services Department with procurement, document control, document review, data management, planning, and scheduling activities. This will allow the Technical Services Department to increase the time and focus put towards their commitments to Site and their Stakeholders.

    Key tasks and responsibilities:

    • Monitor and plan for Employee training requirements
    • Document training records in INX (Health & Safety Management Software)
    • Document workplace inspections in INX
    • Ensure PPE equipment is available to Employees as necessary
    • Assist with job postings and Employee on-boarding processes
    • Schedule Employee training events, along with lodging and transportation requirements
    • Assist with job amendment process, in particular document distribution and review / approval process
    • Manage Technical Services annual calendar
    • Schedule meetings and events
    • As much as possible, assist with the coordination and planning for Life of Mine Planning and Budgeting processes
    • Create schedule for Technical Services Strategy Maps
    • Monitor, and plan for, re-occurring reporting requirements
    • Review various reports prior to distribution
    • Perform procurement activities, primarily purchase requisitions and acquisition of items outside of warehouse stock
    • Assist with Management of Change activities
    • Assist with risk assessments
    • Perform document control activities using TeamBinder
    • Assist with data management activities
    • Other reasonable duties as required to support the Technical Services Department
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate will have:

    Skills:

    • 10+ years of experience as a Business Assistant
    • Experience in the mining industry preferred, but not required 7 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • A motivated self-starter capable of building and maintaining personal relationships, while coordinating activities, and working with, multiple groups
    • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
    • Collaborative working style, ability to coordinate within and between groups
    • A high degree of computer literacy is required, with effective skills in Microsoft Office products required
    • Ability to learn software packages to support training record management, procurement, and document control
    • Ability to schedule and coordinate events for large groups
    • Ability to create schedules supporting multiple groups and multiple activities

    Physical Requirements:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
    • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the workday.
    • Work is in a surface mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
    • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
