Technical Support Technician - Industrial Plastics Cooling Systems - Base Salary to 70k/year - East Dundee, IL

• Our client is an industry leading manufacturer of temperature control systems to help cool finished goods in the plastics and rubber industry. Serving a wide range of industries from automotive to packaging products, this company covers all needs when it comes to cooling systems for injection molded, blow molded, and extruded products.
• They are seeking a hands-on Technical Support Technician with experience in PLC-controlled equipment, refrigeration systems, chillers, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting who is interested in moving into a stable, office-based technical support role. This position supports industrial process cooling equipment from an internal technical support environment. The Technical Support Technician will advise customers and field technicians using your real-world troubleshooting experience; without constant travel, site work, or being on-call in the field.
  

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first technical point of contact for customers and field technicians supporting industrial chillers and refrigeration systems
  
• Troubleshoot issues involving: industrial refrigeration and chillers, PLC-based controls and HMIs, mechanical, electrical, and control components
  
• Use schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic to diagnose equipment issues
  
• Perform remote diagnostics and guide customers or technicians through corrective actions
  
• Determine when escalation is required and provide complete technical documentation to advanced support or engineering teams
  
• Open and manage technical support cases
  
• Accurately document troubleshooting steps, findings, and resolutions
  
• Track issues through resolution and ensure proper handoff when escalation is required
  
• Work closely with senior technical support, engineering, and field service teams
  
• Participate in ongoing product and technical training
  
• Provide feedback on common equipment issues and documentation needs

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with industrial equipment (field service, maintenance, commissioning, or startup)
  
• Strong working knowledge of: industrial refrigeration systems and chillers, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical systems, PLC controls and HMIs
  
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and control diagrams
  
• Comfortable providing technical guidance over the phone and remotely
  

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 60k - 70k/year range
