Position Summary:
The Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. This role combines hands-on mechanical repair skills with electrical and controls knowledge to support production operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures using schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes.
- Repair and replace motors, drives, sensors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, wiring, and control components as needed.
- Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery or equipment modifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and contribute technical insights to enhance production processes.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Technology.
- 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including control panels, sensors, PLCs, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficient with mechanical systems hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical manuals.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, vibration analyzer, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance best practices.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar) is a plus.
- Understanding of automation, robotics, or machine controls.
- Basic welding or fabrication skills.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety standards.
