  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Location: Waterloo, IN

    Inspects and tests materials and products, for conformance to specifications by performing the duties described herein.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Performs weekly audits on finished concrete products by paying attention to height, shape, color and consistency with the use of comparison samples, testing instruments and visual inspections.
    2. Records and maintains all testing data to ensure all products are made in accordance with company requirements and industry standards.
    3. Analyses data for trends and areas of improvement.
    4. Operates lab testing equipment to perform quality tests on incoming raw materials and finished concrete products.
    5. Operates a concrete saw to obtain sample coupons used in various lab tests.
    6. Works alongside production teams to ensure that all in process testing is performed properly and meeting the company standards.
    7. Performs in process testing and work alongside production teams.
    8. Send materials to external labs and track results.
    9. Work with vendors for equipment calibrations and purchasing.
    10. Tracks customer complaints and communicates issues to the production team.
    11. Communicates results of inspections and testing to the supervisor and production personnel daily.
    12. Sampling of sand and stone for conformance.
    13. Adheres to established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
    14. Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
    15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. Computer literacy required, including Microsoft Excel
    3. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
    4. Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
    5. Ability to keep accurate records
    6. Ability to operate a forklift occasionally.
    7. Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
    8. Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.

    ** Language Ability:**

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    ** Math Skills:**

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

    ** Reasoning Ability:**

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
