    Job Description

    Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will be responsible for Health and Safety for the Douglassville, PA and Pen Argyl, PA manufacturing sites. This includes overseeing onsite safety audits, policy and program development and maintenance, safety training and reporting and incident/near miss investigations. You will develop and propose appropriate strategies to ensure the optimization of health and safety processes and programs. You will also prepare prevention training for managers in order to improve skills and ensure effective management of occupational health and safety.

    Specifically, this person will:

    • Conduct a complete evaluation of the OHS program (site audits, legal compliance, documentation, policies, reporting, etc) in place and develop an action plan to reduce potential gaps;
    • Lead the development of the sites' health and safety strategy;
    • Act as a consultant to operations management, supervisors, HR partners and employees;
    • Manage work related incidents, near misses, any potential treatment and worker's compensation claims
    • Conduct corporate audits and verify the application of the various OHS points during quarterly inspection tours;
    • Implement and follow up on key OHS indicators;
    • Train managers and employees on the different OHS procedures and tools;
    • Ensure compliance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Ensure that policies, procedures and training, compliance documentation, OSHA required reporting are well maintained and easily accessible.
    • Work closely with OHS at other Techo-Bloc sites to ensure alignment of strategies
    • Serve as the site contact for internal and external communication, visits, audits related to employee safety matters
    • Manage incidents including the oversight of injuries, incident investigation, root cause/correct action analysis, and action tracking
    • Responsible for management of Hazard Communication Policy and overseeing Hazardous Substance Surveys at assigned sites
    • Responsible for developing and maintaining site specific procedures, including LOTO.
    • Serve as lead for emergency response related activities
    • Be present on the plant floor on a daily basis to observe activities and promote safety
    • Organize and facilitate engaged employee safety committees, meetings and documentation.
    • Travel to both sites in Pennsylvania
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    In order to succeed, you must:

    • 3+ years in OHS field in an industrial/manufacturing environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in any field related to Safety Management,
    • Adept in developing and delivering safety training
    • Possess a strong sense of analysis and problem solving
    • Have an excellent knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations and standards
    • Results-oriented: Energetic, resourceful, with a strong service orientation and positive can-do attitude.
    • Change agent: Capable of creating a vision improved performance and enrolling others to achieve goals.
    • Able to anticipate risks and propose practical plans to mitigate them.
    • Ability to work as part of a team while establish partnership relationships.
    • Intermediate level computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
