Job Summary:
Prep Cooks make all of our recipes from scratch daily with the best quality ingredients. The prep room is the heartbeat of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
There are three positions in the prep area for the lunch shift and three positions for the evening shift. You may learn one or all of them.
AM Prep is responsible for all salsa and sauces, beef, beef, chicken, pork, fried items, rice and beans for lunch shift
PM Prep is responsible for all salsa and sauces, beef, beef, chicken, pork, fried items, rice and beans for evening shift
Expectations:
Works at a fast and steady pace
Participates in “clean as you go” mentality
Executes all cleaning duties
Keeps storage areas and walk-ins clean and organized
Produces prep items to recipe portioning and procedures
Works well with all staff members
Cares for all tools and equipment
Sanitize and operate all kitchen equipment
Work Conditions:
Varied working hours to include weekends, holidays, late evenings, and early mornings as needed
Must be able to stand and/or walk 8+ hours daily
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally, and objects over 50 lbs. rarely
Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and climbing
Occasional squatting, kneeling, crawling, and fine manipulation
Previous prep kitchen experience in a high volume restaurant is preferred
Compensation:
$9 - $13 per hour
Consistent, high volume restaurant
