Job Summary:
The General Manager plays an essential part in Ted’s Café Escondido Restaurants’ operations. Along with assisting in the daily operations the General Manager is specifically responsible for all operations and departments, personal development of floor, expo, and back and front of the house management, the development of AGMs into GMs, and the development of all management.
Responsibilities:
Management and scheduling of all management personnel
Responsible for communicating to the Home Office all information concerning the applicant process
Ensure all Work Orders & Purchase Orders are completed per policy.
Writes monthly business plan
Completes end of the month P&L reconciliation
Ensures all responsibilities of managers are being completed on a timely manner.
Responsible for developing managers with the management criteria material.
Responsible for controlling labor, food cost, and expenses of the unit
Responsible for the daily operations of the unit
General Operations
Sanitation of the entire restaurant
Safety and security of all staff, guests, and restaurant
Review and act on all complaint/bad Customer Comment Cards
Ensure recipe adherence and perfect execution of all food
Understand all systems and equipment in the restaurant
Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of each job position in the restaurant
Able to use all reporting tools provided by the Home Office
Ensure cleanliness of the entire unit (BOH & FOH)
Financial
Minimize controllable expenses without compromising quality service to guests
Control waste, theft, or loss of all food, liquor, and nonfood items
Control all labor expenses
Administrative/Human Resources
Adhere to all Ted’s Café Escondido Restaurants’ policies, procedures, and guidelines
Continual development of hourly staff and managers in training
Continual personal development and progression on management criteria
Hold all employees responsible for performing to Ted’s Café Escondido Restaurants’ standards and discipline accordingly
Work Conditions:
Must be able to work 40+ hours a week
Subject to frequent interruptions
Subject to potentially upset customers, vendors, and employees
Varied working hours to include weekends, holidays, late evenings, and early mornings as needed
Must be able to stand and/or walk 8+ hours daily
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally, and objects over 50 lbs. rarely
Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and climbing
Occasional squatting, kneeling, crawling, and fine manipulation
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
2-3 years restaurant management experience
An equivalent combination of experience, education, and other qualifications may be considered.
