    TekSynap is seeking a RED HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX (RHEL)/SOLARIS ADMINISTRATOR for an exciting opportunity in New Orleans, Louisiana.

    The RHEL/Solaris Administrator shall manage all aspects of Linux operations assigned by the Government. The RHEL/Solaris Admin candidate shall possess IT operations management experience with enterprise level experience supporting legacy applications, COT/GOTS software and systems from BAT to COOP.  The size, scope and complexity of the IT environment must be substantial.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Maintain responsibility for the daily operations and maintenance of Linux systems to support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modifications, security, and upgrading of IT systems.

    Perform day-to-day operations and interface with internal and external clients to support system operations. Contribute to and maintain operations documentation, including configuration data, change requests, installation procedures, knowledge base articles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), engineering diagrams, and test plan.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience

    • 10+ years experience including:

      • Experience with Oracle Database.
      • Experience planning, implementing, and operating Oracle/SUN Solaris environments.
      • Experience planning, implementing, and operating SPARC Platforms.
      • Experience building virtualized environments in Solaris.
      • Sound understanding and working knowledge of networking, storage, and hardware as they apply to Oracle Solaris.
      • Sound understanding of ZFS Storage Appliance.
      • Experience with installing and configuring Oracle 11gR2 Databases.
    • Candidate must have or be able to obtain and retain a satisfactory DOI background investigation. Candidates must be US Citizens or hold a Green Card and a resident of the US for the previous 3 years with no longer than a 90 day absence.

    • Experience with Oracle Solaris Virtualization

    • Experience with ZFS Storage Appliance

    • Experience building infrastructures utilizing 10Gb network infrastructure
