Halfaker has an opening for a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to join our talented, dynamic team. The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Administer and maintain environments, including monitoring health checks, backup, and restore procedures
- Proactively perform diagnoses, root cause analyses, and remediation to quickly and thoroughly resolve operational and performance problems
- Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of servers meet business demands
- Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches
- Proactively monitor server security certificate expiration for renewals
- Participate in key process improvements as they relate to our environments
- Create and maintain a knowledge base of information to swiftly resolve any incoming issues while developing lessons learned to avoid future incidents
Required Skills
- Understanding of industry best practices surrounding proper maintenance and support of a 24x7 server infrastructure
- Strong Linux / Redhat experience - must be able to SSH into servers, read log files, search filesystems, and etc
- Docker experience
- Experience with Jenkins - must be able to read logs and triage build and deploy failures.
- General networking experience - extensive knowledge of TCP/IP
- Ability to take initiative and learn quickly
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly analytical; proven problem-solving abilities
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills, new client environments, and grow domain expertise
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
- 2+ years of work experience
- 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
