    ABOUT THE ROLE

     

    The Product Management Engineer (PME) is a technical resource within the Marketing department, responsible for technology integration with technical partners, use case and solution brief documentation, other technical documentation, and competitive analysis. To be successful in the role, the PME will have 7-10 years of experience in the networking and security field, broad domain expertise in several security related product categories (ZTNA, SDP, SD-WAN, NGFW, SDN), some technical sales experience, excellent communication skills and experience working with and between product development and go-to-market teams. RESPONSIBILITIES  

    ·       Participate in product strategy development and creation of sales materials focusing on competitive advantages 

    ·       Provide product and market analysis to internal teams and customers

    ·       Work independently on technical issues with minimal need for supervision or assistance 

    ·       Take full ownership of assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle 

    ·       Partner closely with other team members and departments 

    ·       Perform analysis and testing of competitor products and produce reports on the findings 

    ·       Business development with potential partners and alliances

    ·       Producing white papers and case studies

    ·       Define and champion standard content for all internal product sales manuals including elevator pitch, ROI justification, and positioning

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

    ·       Strong knowledge in network security, layer 2-7 networking including Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP/S and related protocols 

    ·       Market research data and competitor product analysis 

    ·       Ability to rapidly understand new technologies 

    ·       Ability to create clear presentations and reports based on complex technical data 

    ·       Functional knowledge of underlying web technologies including HTML and JavaScript 

    ·       Functional knowledge of networking products such as routers, firewalls, Windows, and/or Linux/UNIX server 

    ·       Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as KVM, VMware

    ·       Knowledge of deployment of applications and services using cloud technologies such as OpenStack, Amazon AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Compute

    ·       Knowledge of control plane protocols such as JSON and REST frameworks a plus 

    ·       Knowledge of Amazon services such as ELB, ALG, Lambda, and CFT a plus 

    ·       Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes a plus 

    ·       A working knowledge of continuous integration methods is highly desirable 

    ·       Experience with various performance tools associated with stress testing is a plus 

    ·       Duties require up to 25% travel  

     

    QUALIFICATIONS  

    ·       BA/BS Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience

    ·       7-10+ years of experience in network security industry

    ·       Experience in presenting roadmaps, ideas, and competitive reports to internal parties and customers 

    ·       Strong interpersonal, written, and presentation skills required, with the ability to articulate and educate internal and external parties about complex technology, roadmaps, ideas, and concepts
