  • Responsibilities

    Syndeo Staffing is looking for great candidates to work temporarily with the City Housing Department. This role supports the Assistant Director by handling a wide range of administrative tasks that help coordinate and unify the work of all Homeless team divisions in the Housing Department. Key duties include data reconciliation, process management, and reporting. The position also develops and carries out plans for special projects based on the Director’s goals, with progress regularly reviewed.

    Job Duties

    • Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Performs data reconciliation in compliance with the COC, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and related laws/authorities for the Housing and Community Services Division’s projects.
    • Monitors and ensures compliance with organization-level policies and procedures that apply to the operation.
    • Develop and implement internal systems and procedures to monitor and enforce federal, state, and local laws
    • Prepares, monitors, and reconciles reports.
    • Prepares and submits various department reports and forms as required by federal entities to maintain compliance.
    • Confers with citizens and representatives of other organizations by performing client interviews and other customer service-related duties.
    • Analyzes and summarizes information to support project planning and/or response.
    • Prepare reports and recommendations.
    • May conduct oral presentations regarding process changes or topics researched. Coordinates special projects involving multiple Divisions.
    • Prepares correspondence, brochures, and other narrative materials.
    • Conducts research and prepares reports with recommendations of proposed solutions and courses of action.
    • Receives inquiries and furnishes the information requested.

    Requirements

    • Considerable knowledge of research techniques and sources of information, such as the HUD Exchange
    • Knowledge of information resources and information evaluation and reporting techniques.
    • Knowledge of the practices and principles of municipal and federal government and the organizational operations of the hiring department.
    • Considerable knowledge of & ability to read, interpret, enforce, and provide information about federal regulations, state statutes, local ordinances, and grant agreements related to provided services
    • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, other employees, representatives of other organizations, and the public.
    • Basic experience with or knowledge of the environmental field and construction trades
    • Ability to work proficiently on a computer and within Microsoft Office/other required programs
    • Ability to pass pre-employment background/drug screening

    Schedule - Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is a temporary role expected to last until September 2025; however, as with all temporary positions, it is subject to end at any time.
