    Position Summary

    The Temporary Dog Handler provides flexible coverage during peak periods, staff absences, and capacity surges. This role requires individuals who can quickly adapt to our established protocols while maintaining the same high standards of care as our regular staff.

    We are a fast-growing small business. This posting is for an Temporary Dog Handler (paid weekly). If you have skills in both, perfect! If not, you may still apply for the position of your interest. NOTE: Owning a dog is NOT considered as EXPERIENCE.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Primary Care Functions:

    Supervise group play sessions ensuring safe, positive dog interactions

    Monitor dog behavior and report any concerns to management

    Assist with feeding routines according to established schedules

    Provide basic care including exercise, attention, and comfort

    Maintain clean, sanitary facilities using veterinarian-grade solutions

    Follow established safety protocols and emergency procedures

    Operational Support:

    Assist with dog check-in and check-out procedures using Gingr system

    Help with crate cleaning and facility maintenance

    Support feeding operations and meal preparation

    Assist with basic grooming and preparation for client pickup

    Maintain accurate records of dog activities and behavior

    Communication:

    Interact professionally with pet parents during pickup/drop-off

    Report daily activities and any concerns to permanent staff

    Follow communication protocols for client updates

    Maintain confidentiality of client and business information

    Scheduling and Availability

    When Coverage is Needed:

    Peak seasons (holidays, summer breaks, spring vacation)

    Staff absences (sick days, vacations, emergencies)

    Capacity surges beyond regular 9-dog limit

    Special events requiring additional hands

    Short-notice coverage needs

    Typical Shifts:

    4-8 hour shifts depending on need

    Morning shifts: 6:30AM-11:30AM

    Evening shifts: 1:30PM-6:30PM

    Full day coverage: 6:30AM-6:30PM

    MUST have a LOVE for dogs and don't mind getting dirty.

    MUST have a go getter spirit. I pride my business on the level of service I provide to my clients by taking care of their dogs like I do my own. I'm looking to expand my business in the immediate future but for now, operate from my home.

    MUST have a go getter attitude. Self-sufficient and a team player spirit.

    MUST have patience, a POSITIVE ATTITUDE, be self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision.

    MUST be detail oriented and treat each pet with respect and decency.

    MUST communicate clearly and frequently with pet owners and in a professional manner.

    MUST be reliable and on time for work.

    MUST maintain a clean, safe, and fun working environment.
