    Position: Temporary Part-time Finance Specialist

    Salary Range: $27.60/hour to $36.98/hour, Starting Salary: DOQ, DOE

    Location: Treasurer’s Office

    Employment Type: Part-time, FLSA Non-exempt, Benefits Do Not Apply

    Part Time Benefits Include: Benefited employees shall accrue sick leave benefits at the percentage rate of hours worked per week, to a maximum of eight (8) hours earned per month

    based on a forty (40) hour workweek but not less than one (1) hour per every forty (40) hours worked per County Policy 30.05.0

    Brief Duties and Responsibilities: Performs a variety of responsible accounting duties and other related work required under the direct authority of the County Treasurer. Maintains and

    balances the County Treasurer's bank accounts and investments; monitors liquidity balances to ensure adequate levels are maintained to cover outflow needs; prepares monthly reports of cash

    activity for Walla Walla County and various taxing districts; prepares reports to the State of Washington and transmits funds; establishes BARS revenue accounts; audits daily receipts and ensure properly recorded and deposited in the bank.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Work is performed independently under the County Treasurer and Chief Deputy Treasurer. Instructional supervision is furnished to others who remit information to the County Treasurer relating to receipts, disbursements, and investments.

    Working Environment/Physical Abilities: The working environment includes activities in multiple department venues. Physical abilities required for this position are ones typically related

    to office operations, manual dexterity, and visual acuity to operate personal computers, other office equipment, accessing file cabinets, both on site and off, and sufficient hearing and speech

    ability to communicate verbally.

    Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience And Training: Associates of Arts degree in accounting and three (3) years' experience in accounting required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferable. Banking experience desired.

    Licenses And Other Requirements: Must be bondable. Maintain a current driver's license, vehicle insurance and have a driving record that is acceptable to the county's insurer. Must have access

    to a vehicle during work hours. Must successfully pass a background check and a driving record check.
