JOB PURPOSE
This role is a new position in the Transportation department for the new DRiV TMS (Transport Management System), which will create on-time visibility of the Tenneco Enterprise shipments worldwide and support on-time supply chain optimizations. In addition, the TMS Transportation Super User and Load Planner will consolidate inbound and outbound DRiV orders into optimal load profiles and assign carriers to loads utilizing the Transportation Management System (TMS). This position covers approximately 80 Mio USD freight spend across 34 facilities and is responsible for achieving roughly 800k USD savings during the first year after go-live.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
TMS Super User
- Manage Day to Day Transportation Management System Operations
- Ensure Carrier / Forwarder compliance against performance standards; cost competitiveness, cycle time, and responsiveness
- Serve as point of contact for carrier EDI integration
- Identify cost savings opportunities and lead initiatives to implement actions to achieve savings
- Manage and support outbound Distribution Centre TMS operations; provide training as necessary to ensure compliance and cost avoidance objectives are met
- Utilize metrics to track supplier adoption of the new system; engage with purchasing with any corrective actions
- Utilize TMS to improve logistics/transportation financial accrual reporting
- Collaborate with PowerBI Super Users to develop reporting and performance metrics.
- Ensure shipments are moving through the systems; troubleshoot if necessary.
- Upload of new carrier rates to the TMS tool
- Manage carrier and plant compliance by using metrics to ensure the right awarded forwarders are used in terms of cost, service, and transit time to meet the expectations of the company, our customers, and our suppliers.
TMS Load Planner
- Direct and assist supplier locations in load building and shipment tendering to appropriate carriers efficiently and cost-effectively, including routing guide implementation and compliance management.
- Responsible for load planning, optimization, routing, and scheduling of all transportation modes.
- Develops and implements final stage system parameters that drive system load assignments that identify, build and book loads per day in compliance with routing expectations, driving financial impact to DRiV.
- Responds to client needs by answering e-mails, calls, tracking and moving shipments
- Serves as a daily direct point of contact for suppliers, to include training, recommending corrective actions, and addressing issues
- From a macro level, monitors and ensures on-time pick-up and delivery based on reports.
- Expedites shipments when necessary on behalf of the client
- Demonstrate sound judgment by making decisions based on bettering the total network and being able to support decisions with facts; taking responsibility for actions
- Ability to prioritize and manage time/commitments and adjust to changing priorities as needed to complete tasks within desired timeframes
