    Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated EHS INTERN focused student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience working at our facility in SKOKIE, IL.

     

    As an EHS INTERN you will work with the EHS team on transition to new air emission software. Work on additional team member hazard communication methods and hazard recognition. Work on EHS training. Conduct facility audits and equipment reviews.

     

    Day to day support of the EHS tasks and projects include but are not limited to:

    • Work with new air emission software for our weekly inputs as well as our annual reporting.
    • Updating our chemical labeling system and investigate better ways to ensure compliance.
    • Conduct ISO audits for value streams to ensure compliance with guidelines.
    • Review and update annual training materials to ensure that all are current and compliant.
    • Review all paper files and implement plan to convert them to electronic.
    • Assis in the updating of site Safety Data Sheets.

     

    THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN OUR SKOKIE, IL FACILITY.

    Required Experience

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Student currently enrolled in and in good standing with an accredited cooperative education engineering program.
    • Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering.
    • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
    • Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site.
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
    • Geographically flexible and willing to relocate during the program.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or automotive engineering.
    • Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Student with prior co-op or intern experience
