For this vacancy we are looking for a mature engineer who has strong natural drive to deep dive into the details of a test method as well as the talent to zoom out and manage complex validation plans.
The test engineer should preferably have experience with fatigue testing, diverse measurement systems hardware and software and can work with signal processing software. Some experience with simulations is also a benefit, as linking test and simulation results is more and more an important part of the development process.
The experienced Test Engineer will work within the Advanced Engineering department in Sint-Truiden, Belgium.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute key measurements and tests
- Take ownership of the validation plans within multiple Advanced Engineering projects. This means the testing engineer is responsible to coordinate and follow up the validation plans and where needed develop solutions for the measurement and test needs of the project, whether done in-house or in collaboration with external companies
- Make proposals and execute the development or purchase of new test and measurement equipment or set-ups
- Take up responsibility to maintain and expand the testing know-how in one or more fields of expertise
- Have regular contacts with suppliers of measurement system hardware and software
- Present on regular basis to the project team and other stakeholders concerning the results of key programs
- Present occasionally to external customers
Required Skills
Education/ Certification
- Master degree in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering
Skills/ Knowledge
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with different measurement systems
- Basic understanding of metal fatigue phenomena
- Experience with Matlab or other signal processing software
- Stress-resistant
- Strong analytical and creative approach, determination to find solutions
- Customer focus and quality focus
- Good communication skills and able to operate independent within a team structure
- Prepared to make occasional business trips
- Good knowledge of English is mandatory
