    We are looking for an experienced Area Manager to join our Kettering, OH manufacturing facility. This person will be responsible for coordinating all manufacturing related activities in the designated platform and assigned shift including EH&S administration, quality systems, daily operations and employee relations. This person will report to the Plant Manager and will become a valued member of our manufacturing team therefore, opportunities for advancement are strong.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Enforce safety and health regulations and maintain a safe, clean and orderly production floor.
    • Coordinate, plan and supervise departmental hourly personnel to meet production schedules.
    • Continuously improve safety, quality and productivity through cell BOS brainstorming sessions and execution and discipline.
    • Manage and monitor relationships of downtime, changeovers, and process improvements as it directly relates to quality, efficiency and scrap.
    • Maintain compliance with plant policies and procedures including requirements for TS16949.
    • Assess strengths and developmental needs of employees as well as provide challenging assignments and opportunities for the development of employees.
    • Champion change and challenge the status quo.
    • Ensure that quality, productivity and costs are within the plant budget for their area of responsibility.
    • Empower employees, consistently administer company personnel policies, administer disciplines and follow up with any employee concerns.
    • Manage projects within time, budget and technical constraints.
    • Implement and sustain systems (using execution and discipline) that positively impact the performance goals of the plant/business.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 5 years of supervisory experience (20 + people) in a manufacturing environment required, automotive industry preferred.
    • Must be able to communicate clearly through written and verbal means with employees at all organizational levels.
    • Must be willing to work any shift.
    • Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and SAP
    • Demonstrated decision making skills required.
