    Job Description

    The Manager of Program Management II (PM Tools) is ultimately responsible and accountable for the global launch of Program Management tools to meet the requirements of the GPMO and regional PMO’s. The Manager of Program Management II PM Tools is responsible for adherence to Tenneco program management processes via software implementation and tool development.  This role ensures a flawless tool launch to support the regional PMO’s with on time deployment, meets quality standards and budget. ·    

    Managing Tools and IT Team (Overview) 

    • Schedule and conduct high quality Program Reviews and Gate Reviews.
    • Hire (to the approved job descriptions) and train the PM Tools program managers on his / her team.
    • Act as Program Sponsor ensuring support of the Regional PMO’s to obtain people, financial and training support for their people. 
    • Drive for 0 days late for all by working through the Program Managers and the supplier manager to achieve adherence to the program timeline.
    • Report program metrics to the VP of Program Management and ultimately to the Global/Regional PMO organization.
    • Maintains a staffing plan based on CAR
    • Is responsible for gathering all requirements from the PM organization and articulating the requirements to the supplier along with an SOW.

     Project Integration Management

    • Ensure problem identification and resolution for his / her program team
    • Ensure a high level of integration and collaboration with the regional PMOs and alignment with affected functional managers.
    • Audit and verify the effectiveness “try out” of software using Tenneco data.
    • Manage IT supplier to meet cost, timing and requirements.
    • Ensure effective communication by the program team to customers.

    ·    Project Scope and Risk Management

    • Ensure effective and timely scope management and is ultimately owner of the Scope Change process and approval.
    • Ensure program trade off analysis – balancing cost, time, product, and resources.
    • Help to identify program risks early, help the program team develop and execute mitigation strategies and execution of the Red Flag process.
    • Escalates risk to leadership team in a timely fashion.

    ·    Project Time and Resource Management

    • Ensure and verify the quality of timing plan.
    • Meet all customer and supplier dates on time with high quality products.

    ·    Project Cost and Financial Management

    • Ensure program financial targets and budgets are met.
    • Verify that the CARs and Business Cases are reasonable

    ·    Project Quality 

    • Ensure that the program team develops quality objectives
    • Ensure that all quality objectives for the program is met

    ·    Project Procurement

    • Ensure sourcing on time with high quality supplier.
    • Visit critical supplier at appropriate points in the program with the members of their Program Team.

    Required Experience

    • Education/ Certification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred) with strong capabilities to absorb technical information.
    • Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.

    ·    PMP certification is preferred.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in the automotive industry and 10 years in Program Management.
    • Experience in at least 3 key functional areas: Program Management, Engineering, IT, Finance or Operations.
    • Proven knowledge of program management methodology, tools and techniques.
    • Proven experience developing and deploying a PM IT solution preferred.
    • Managed multiple product development programs through to launch with ownership of budget/cost/timing. 
    • Global program experience as either a lead or member of the team
