  • Responsibilities

    TITLE: Hourly Finished Good Material Handler – 3rd shift nights SUN-THURS 11:15PM-7:30AM TYPE: Hourly

    LOCATION: El Paso, TX, United States

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for the scanning of all finished goods materials and/or any outgoing materials to the correct system location.
    • Responsible for sorting, preparing and organizing the finished goods materials ready for trailer pickup in a timely manner from the manufacturing facility to the Distribution Center.
    • Responsible for palletizing and packaging according to customer requirements per supervisor instructions as needed
    • Liaison with Production Supervisors, Customer Service & Planning on expediting shipments
    • Responsible for reporting and staging mislabeled product in the designated area.
    • Responsible for staging product relating to quality assurance issues in the designated area.
    • Responsible for performing daily housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment and workplace.
    • Forklift certified to load and unload trailers as needed by the business. 
    • Required to perform material movement tasks in an efficient & productive manner
    • Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor

    • ACCOUNTABLE for Adherence to the Zero Tolerance policy and practice of refusing to tolerate or allow behavior defined by Tenneco as unacceptable in terms of safety (e.g. "unsafe behavior" meaning behavior that could lead to occupational injury or illness to a plant employee, contractor or visitor).
    • ACCOUNTABLE for complying with Environmental Health & Safety Rules and Regulations.
    • Must be able to understand what hazards are associated with his/her position and how to minimize them. All accidents/injuries no matter how slight must be reported to any member of management, and/or Environmental Health & Safety Manager as soon as possible. Will be required to wear required personal protective equipment.
    • ACCOUNTABLE for abiding by the El Paso's EH&S policy endorsed by the local management, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established under its EHSMS
    • AUTHORITY to Stop and shutdown unsafe machine operation; unsafe behaviors; and unsafe conditions. This includes but not limited to any activity that does not conform to the EHS policy or may injure Tenneco employees, visitors, contractors.
    • Will work towards achieving established objectives, targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
    • Other miscellaneous duties as business needs dictate or assigned by the corporate EHS officials.
    • Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Tenneco Code of Conduct Policy.

     

    Required Skills

    REQUIREMENTS:

    HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED EQUIVALENT

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED.

    • Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and /or move, push/pull up to 40 lbs. – THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT OF THE JOB
    • Must be Computer literate (alpha/numeric data entry with accuracy) – THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT OF THE JOB.
    • Minimum 1 year working in a warehouse / manufacturing environment
    • Ability to define problems; collect data; establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Must have excellent organizational skills
    • Must be able to analyze and audit transaction data for accuracy.
    • Must be able to interpret graphs and charts.
    • Must be able to read and understand operational instructions in English
    • Proven ability to perform accurate data entry transactions
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
    • Must be a self-starter and have a sense of urgency.
    • Must be a team player.
