    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Human Resources Data Analytics Intern will contribute to, and learn from data quality, analysis, and build reporting capabilities for the global Motorparts business Group. This position will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and senior leadership. The intern will have the opportunity to further develop their data analytics skills and enhance their independence in a professional work environment. Reporting to the HR Program Manager, the intern will work closely with plant and DC HR team members along with regional HR directors to analyze and interpret datasets.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyze current reporting practices and making recommendations for efficiency improvements
    • Develop and utilize spreadsheets, databases and other computer applications, manage specialized information, reports, and datasets that will be used to provide recommendations and make decisions
    • Leverage current applications to design new concepts and approaches with reporting to enhance data literacy
    • Extract data from various systems (SAP, OBI, and various in-house systems), clean data to ensure data integrity, and provide basic summary reports of key trends.
    • Assist in creating new detection techniques to identify issues in a more systematic and scalable fashion
    • Prepare presentations based on findings
    • Support with adhoc requests for strategic analysis on various topics such as employee turnover, recruitment activity, internal sourcing, the intern program, exit interviews, etc.

    This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

     

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or HR
    • Strong systems Skills (e.g. Excel power user, Power BI, etc.)
    • Demonstrates solid teamwork and collaboration skills
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer
    • Desire to learn new software tools and is a proven self-start

    Required Experience

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or HR
