    We are looking for a MATERIALS ANALYST. The Materials Analyst is responsible for procuring material to support the upstream requirements manufacturing set production (raw material plus purchased parts) and maintaining a balance of inventory levels to ensure the lowest possible inventory with the highest possible fill rate.  The position is also responsible for ensuring requirements are met for new vendors and timely payments, weekly and monthly reports to track purchase price variance. .

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Adhere to EH&S policy endorsed by the local management, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established under its EHS Management System (EHSMS), work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with ISO and OHSAS standards. An employee should report and, if necessary, stop any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself.
    • UNDERSTANDS HOW HIS/HER ROLE AFFECTS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND PRODUCT SAFETY.
    • Analyze orders for procuring raw materials, create purchasing documents and forwarding to suppliers with date to be delivered, while keeping inventory at a minimum level. Set up required transportation as needed. Monitor and track open order report
    • Direct AP on actions to be taken regarding disputed invoices and follow up with suppliers on discrepancies
    • Place purchase orders/schedule agreements, expedite/de-expedite order as necessary and maintain visual pull inventory
    • Approve supplier list and manage
    • Prepare flash for PPB for finance and purchasing manager
    • Report usage, forecast, shipping expense and other information to commodity managers as needed. Track and report monthly cost savings. Suggest suppliers’ and raw materials cost savings, and potential costs savings from suggestions.
    • Run GR/IR and open PO reports and follow up on issues found
    • Maintain approved supplier list and acquire necessary forms for approval process
    • Collect data for new suppliers, complete required forms and forward for approval. Verify new suppliers are entered correctly into our operating system
    • Serve as primary contact with AP on changes with suppliers and disputed invoices. Communicate with commodity managers by email, participate in weekly conference call with indirect commodity manager, participate in monthly conference calls with purchase manager regarding PPV
    • Follow Quality Management System requirements
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Required Skills Required Experience

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 2-3 years’ experience in supply chain, purchasing, buying and planning in a manufacturing environment
    • BS in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
    • Automotive manufacturing experience
    • SAP experience, or similar application
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Excel and web-based software
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while remaining organized
    • Strong team player
    • Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work
    • Ability to respond to and meet critical timetables and to work under pressure
    • Flexible approach to responsibilities.
