Weekend Tooling Tech/Reconditioning Tech- FSS PM SHIFT OR PART TIME FRI/SAT PM SHIFT

  • Responsibilities

     

    • DIMENSIONALLY INSPECT NEW & USED TOOLING TO DETERMINE WHETHER TOOLS ARE TO BE REPAIRED, REPLACED OR RETURNED TO MANUFACTURING

    • MAINTAIN INVENTORIES ON ALL TOOLING ITEMS

    • Fill tooling requests to the production floor and return tooling to the tool crib

    • Help operators, supervisors & engineers at the tool crib window with any quality issues

    • Use the tool crib database, Frequency inspection database & Print databases to look up tooling, track inventories and dimensional specifications.

    • Operate grinding machines to recondition used tooling.

    • Resurfacing of clamps, collars, and other machine tooling.

    Required Skills

    • **PREFERRED: ABILITY TO PERFORM MEASUREMENTS OF CRITICAL DIMENSIONS AND FEATURES TO ASSURE TOOLING MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE BLUEPRINTS.

    • ** Preferred: Understands blueprint tolerancing and appropriate measuring methods for the required accuracies.

    • Computer literate: Ability to make database entries, Access database searches, Excel files, Outlook email, etc.

    • Ability to work with engineering and manufacturing to solve tooling and/or process capability issues.

    • Ability to multi-task & follow up on issues to ensure they are addressed.

    • Demonstrated self-discipline to complete daily tasks.

    • Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with all teammates.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Standing   
    • Light Work: lifting over 20 pounds occasionally, frequent standing/walking.
