    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Human Resources Total Rewards Intern will contribute to, and learn from total rewards projects, initiatives and TR/HR processes for the global Motorparts business Group. This position will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and senior leadership. The intern will have the opportunity to further develop their data analytics skills and enhance their independence in a professional work environment. Reporting to the Total Rewards Director, the intern will work closely with the MP Program Manager, Plant and DC HR team members along with regional HR directors to implement TR project and HR processes and ensure sustenance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist with audits and other projects related to Total Rewards.
    • Develop and utilize spreadsheets, databases, and other computer applications, manage specialized information, reports, and datasets that will be used to provide recommendations
    • Support with adhoc requests for strategic analysis on various topics such as cost analysis, benchmark review, plan document, etc.
    • Support year end compensation processes - processing annual merit increases, AIP/SIP Planning etc.
    • Assist with compensation surveys, job evaluation, compensation recommendations, and other total rewards activities.
    • Complete data entry in HR systems and/or cleanup system data.
    • Centralizing and updating MP job descriptions
    • Process improvements - combining multiple data sources into one
    • Special projects as they arise
    • Modeling pay structures and conducting financial impact analyses of alternative designs
    • Developing, analyzing and calibrating incentive plan designs that help support the HRDs/HRMs
    • Drafting documents presenting the team's analytical work to client audiences (VP-HR/HRDs/HRMs)
    • Increasing efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve TR processes.

     

    This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRE CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related discipline
    • Strong systems Skills (e.g., Excel power user, Power BI, etc.)
    • Demonstrates solid teamwork and collaboration skills
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Strong analytical and presentation skills
    • Strong interpersonal skill
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer
    • Desire to learn new software tools and is a proven self-start
    • Ability to multitasks and handle multiple projects
    • Willingness to work globally with teams in different time zones
    • Knowledge of TR will be an added advantage

    Required Experience

    • Must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business
