  • Responsibilities

    Provide analytical and simulation support in development of semi-active & active electronic damping system and its control algorithms. Scope will include performing ride and handling simulations using any of the tools such as ADAMS, CARSIM, Matlab, Simulink. OEM experience in vehicle dynamics is highly preferred. Understanding of control systems as well as vehicle electric communication such as CAN, LIN etc.

     

     

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Understanding of Vehicle Dynamics - vehicle ride & handling development
    • Develop analytical models of vehicle and integrate them with control algorithm to understand performance of this technology prior to the development of prototypes.
    • Work closely with our OE customers in calibration for ride control products which meet ride, durability, and standardization requirements.
    • Become an expert at predicting vehicle level performance advantage for all Monroe Intelligent Suspension (MIS) products.
    • Provide input for future product enhancements to improve Tenneco’s competitive position.
    • Apply problem solving tools and development methods to enhance productivity and design quality (e.g., simulation, modeling, DOE, Six Sigma)

    Required Experience

    Minimum Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelors of Science in electrical, mechanical or mechatronics engineering.
    • 3-5 years of experience applying vehicle dynamics simulation.
    • Experience and capability to perform vehicle dynamic experience of Carsim, Amesim, ADAMS, Matalb, Simulink.
    • Understanding of vehicle dynamics, chassis and suspension design

     

    Preferred

    • Master’s degree in Engineering
    • Familiarity with ride control products and vehicle suspension system
    • Proven track record working in team environment. Comfortable in a hands-on and interactive work environment with others.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) with significant interface with various engineering divisions, management and customers.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
