    This is a unique opportunity to join us as EMEA FINANCE DIRECTOR (BRAKING) (m/f/d) reporting to the Executive Finance Director Braking.

    In this key role you will proactively participate in the planning and managing of finance function, defining and implementing initiatives and strategies for the business operating unit while interfacing with Operations management, Sales team, R&D, Plant controllers, Corporate finance and Accounting teams.

    The EMEA Finance Director will have 5-6 direct reports.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • STRATEGIC PARTNER: Partnering with the regional leadership team to develop and execute strategies to deliver the financial results for the region; provide strategic and technical guidance to the plants in preparation, consolidation and analysis of financial statements. Develop and maintain effective working relationships within the business unit, including its various locations along with corporate financial management.
    • LEADING FINANCE TEAM ACROSS EMEA: Leading Finance team in the region the ensure the provision of necessary financial services to achieve the current and future business objectives. Coach and guide the finance team across regional sites to continually improve the quality and capability of the finance function, driving a continuous improvement culture in the finance team.
    • REPORTING AND BUSINESS PLANNING: Develop and operate systems that provide analysis and interpretation of financial information for the region; ensuring integrity, accuracy, timeliness and reliability of the financial information. Lead and improve the forecasting process within the finance function. This includes managing the annual business planning process and weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual consolidated forecast. Ensure appropriate financial governance procedures are in place in the region.
    • DECISION SUPPORT: To advise and challenge on interpretation of information, to facilitate timely and accurate decision making on business operations and investments.
    • SUPPORT BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT: Active involvement in operational business issues to ensure that decisions are optimized to improve profitability. Monitor budget variances to identify issues, trends and actions needed to address. Focus on cash flow and working capital metrics for the region. Provides financial analysis and controls covering diverse financial issues, e.g., leasing, capitalization, assets, projects, allocations. Provides financial analysis and control for projects and major initiatives. 
    • GOVERNANCE AND INTERNAL CONTROLS: Function as a regional sponsor for governance and internal controls by setting tone and expectations for operating sites. Ensure compliance with global financial policies and procedures, including US GAAP and local reporting requirements. Ensure that internal controls are implemented that will safeguard the company assets in a cost effective manner and meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

     

    Required Skills

    We are looking for a talented Finance leader, with strong financial and strategic credentials. They will have operated at or very close to this level in a multinational business and be conversant in how to influence and lead across boundaries with high level stakeholders. They will have been involved with Divisional or Corporate finance functions within other businesses.

     EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

     

    • Experience of leading business forecasting and driving financial performance covering growth, profitability, cash flow and internal controls
    • Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field; CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CPA/MBA
    • 10+ years relevant experience preferably in manufacturing environment
    • Experience of ERP systems (e.g, SAP); proficiency in MS Excel
    • Multi site experience desired
    • Knowledge of Onestream or similar financial reporting applications.
    • Strong commercial judgement – someone that proactively identifies and drives opportunity for the benefit of the business
    • Capability, drive and initiative to create and manage own work agenda
    • The ability to create and maintain productive work relationships
    • Demonstrated leadership and management capability
    • High standards of integrity and work ethic, and good judgment when dealing with confidential information
    • Ability to travel, including to international locations as needed to support the business
    • Language: English proficiency (written and verbal required)
