    We have a diverse environment that will promote learning all sides of the Financial and Accounting aspects in the Automotive Industry. We are looking for a Sr. Manager of SEC Reporting. This position is Responsible for the timely and accurate filing of quarterly and annual reports in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and US GAAP regulations including the preparation of the Company’s financial statements on Form 10-K, 10-Q and registration statements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements along with all accompanying footnotes, including coordination with business units and other corporate functions to obtain information necessary for the completion of the financial statements.
    • Ensure financial statements adhere to US GAAP and SEC requirements and that all disclosure requirements are met, including preparing and/or reviewing significance tests.
    • Coordinate the preparation and review of the US GAAP and SEC checklists quarterly/annually.
    • Provide accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports.
    • Review financial statement schedules prepared for use as footnote support for completeness and accuracy.
    • Seek opportunities to standardize and automate processes to gain efficiencies, including preparing, distributing, and reviewing any financial reporting packages necessary to achieve complete and accurate financial reporting.
    • Coordination of XBRL tagging, either internally, or through third party service provider.
    • Conduct accounting technical research and write technical position memos/white papers for presentation and disclosure related matters.
    • Assist with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and related procedures, including drafting new disclosures.
    • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and applicability of changes in the standards and SEC reporting requirement, as well as propose and recommend changes to current disclosures to adhere to such changes.
    • Support and facilitate the annual external audit and serve as a liaison between the Company and external auditors to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues.
    • Perform analytical review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
    • Provide US GAAP support to business unit and corporate finance leaders.
    • Coordinate with external specialists (i.e. valuation specialists, actuaries, etc.) on critical accounting estimates and related assumptions, along with control documentation over the review of inputs to financial models.
    • Review reports from external specialist and documentation of review procedures over data for internal controls documentation.
    • Assist with the pushdown of the deferred purchase price templates for the Company’s factoring arrangements and review subsequent submissions from the business units for completeness and accuracy.
    • Maintain and update the SOX 404 internal control documentation and related testing for the financial reporting cycle and other cycles within area of responsibility, including updating process documents and narratives.
    • Coordinate with the consolidation system administrator group to make changes to system structure, including new entities, accounts or segment rollups to facilitate more efficient close process and ensure adherence to SEC and US GAAP financial reporting requirements.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred. CPA required.

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • 8-12 years of work experience with a combination of public accounting and automotive manufacturing (OEM or OEM supplier) or aftermarket industry experience.
    • Progressive increases in responsibility over career.
    • Big 4 Public Accounting Firm experience (minimum 5 years) working with multinational public registrants, preferably in the automotive manufacturing (OEM or OEM supplier) or aftermarket industry.
    • Hands on SEC reporting experience both preparing and filing various forms including; 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, registration statements, etc.
    • Must have strong technical accounting background (US GAAP, SEC Rules and Regulations (SK and SX)).
    • Broad understanding of accounting topics including, but not limited to: Accounting for Pensions, Accounting for Restructuring Activities, Accounting for Business Combinations, Accounting for Goodwill, Intangibles and Long-Lived Assets, EPS, and Accounting for Derivatives, Factoring among other areas.
