The Manager, Product Pricing & Manufacturing Planning is responsible for developing costs, pricing, and manufacturing plans for the NAOE Ride Control business. This position performs a key role in defining the future business model to optimize profits and capital utilization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish new product costs for customer quotations including material, labor, overhead, variances, tooling, equipment, and administrative charges in accordance with “TA Pricing Guidelines and Approval Process”
- Recommend market pricing for quotation purposes and prepare financial summary for Commercial management
- Define long-term manufacturing footprint along with Plant Managers and Executive Director, Manufacturing & Engineering; determine appropriate plant/plants to source new business based on core competencies, capacity, and manufacturing strategy
- Manage Capital budget with Executive Director, Manufacturing & Engineering
- Review/audit Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) to maximize utilization of existing capital and ensure investment does not exceed that which was quoted
- Conduct make vs. buy analysis and decide appropriate path
- Track and analyze won/lost business and drive initiatives to improve the quoting process and capital utilization
- Develop price justification summaries for customer review
- Work with plants to develop consistent/accurate overhead allocations and standard costs
Required Skills
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Cost Accounting and/or Finance
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
