    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The Instructional Designer will design, develop, and populate a learning management system with highly interactive and engaging blended and online modules, applying proven adult learning methodologies. This person will work with a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to rapidly deliver eLearning solutions for targeted audiences who specialize in rehabilitative care.

    The Instructional Designer will consistently demonstrate support of the SRAlab statement of Vision, Mission and Core Values by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute.

    The Instructional Designer will demonstrate SRAlab Core Attributes: Communication, Accountability, Flexibility/Adaptability, Judgment/Problem Solving, Customer Service and SRAlab Values (Hope, Compassion, Discovery, Collaboration, & Commitment to Excellence) while fulfilling job duties.

     

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    THE INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER WILL:

    1. Collaborate with SMEs, and work with existing documentation to create new online modules.
    2. Create course objectives and content designs/storyboards with SMEs.
    3. Review and document required content in design documents.
    4. Design and/or select content specific graphics and illustrations.
    5. Layout all graphics and content using Articulate Storyline.
    6. Create interactive learning activities.
    7. Create assessments in alignment with overall evaluation strategy.
    8. Develop Train-the-Trainer material.
    9. Deliver high quality products along an aggressive development schedule.
    10. Provide quality assurance on developed modules.
    11. Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of training content and materials.

    Required Skills

    1. Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction or related field preferred.
    2. 3-5 years' experience designing and building eLearning projects or custom online multimedia service projects in a production-oriented environment.
    3. Absolute attention to detail and high quality standards.
    4. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under short lead times.
    5. Expertise with Microsoft Office, multimedia applications and authoring tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, and Articulate Storyline. Ability to populate content into interactive slides, edit and sync video and audio, manipulate photos, create and implement layers, triggers, and variables
    6. Comprehension of how people learn using digital media and insight into the psychology of learning.
    7. Technical knowledge of SCORM and experience building interactive instructional exercises.

    9. Clever troubleshooting abilities. We need someone who is very familiar with computers, web browsers, internet technologies, media technologies, and how to troubleshoot these things when issues may arise.
    10. Strong writing and editing skills.
