    We are looking for a Welding Engineer for our Jeffersonville, Indiana plant to contribute to our Clean Air business unit. In this role, you will work with Process and Quality Engineers to define and set up new welding equipment. You will solve welding quality issues, train quality inspectors, and lead welding activities to continuously improve welding processes and productivity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Research advanced welding technology for new projects and materials.
    • Support product engineers to define welding machining and tooling; choose welding materials, set up welding machines and develop welding procedures for new projects.
    • Continuously improve existing welding processes for enhancing welding productivity and reducing downtime.
    • Work on critical welding processes to solve welding quality problems.
    • Support quality engineers to investigate the root cause of weld quality issues from customers and develop corrective action plans.
    • Technically assist Quality Control for quality improvement and Maintenance for Total Preventative Maintenance for welding machines.
    • Lead and develop PFMEAs for welding processes and support Quality Engineers to develop Quality Control Plan.
    • Comply with requirements and assist in maintenance of the necessary quality standards (QS9000/ISO/TS16949/ISO14001) to ensure re-certification .
    • Actively participate in ongoing continual improvement activities and initiatives.

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
    • Minimum 3 years working experience in automotive industry.
    • Experience in Resistance Welding and MIG welding.
    • Robotics experience highly preferred.
