    Tenneco, Inc. has recently acquired Federal Mogul. The strategic combination of Tenneco’s Ride Performance business with Federal-Mogul’s Motorparts business will establish a global aftermarket leader with an impressive portfolio of some of the strongest brands in the aftermarket including Monroe®, Walker®, Wagner®, Champion®, Fel-Pro® and MOOG®.  The company’s broader aftermarket product coverage, stronger distribution channels, and enhanced channel development will strengthen its position in established and high growth markets (China and India), and drive success through new mobility models and capturing evolving e-commerce opportunities.

    We are looking for an Operations Manager that is responsible for managing the operations and product flow of multiple machining centers, assembly operations and component manufacturing.  Plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacture of ride control systems in accordance with pre-established company objectives at an optimum cost that is consistent with delivery and quality requirements.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain a safe and effective organization/culture through the selection, training, and accountability of personnel.
    • Direct the Production Managers in the preparation and implementation of operating plans and strategies consistent with the agreed-to Annual Operating Plan and guide these managers in the preparation of annual budget goals and attainment of annual plant goals.
    • Develop, maintain and improve product income levels through waste reduction, cost reduction, and cost improvement plans.
    • Partner with the Continuous Improvement Manager in the preparation and implementation of lean plans and strategies consistent with the agreed to AOP and guide this position in the preparation of plan attainment.
    • Plan the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future manufacturing requirements, including department budgets and guidelines, plant layout and improvement, and capital expenditure programs.
    • Appraise technological developments, investigating feasibility of new equipment and techniques
    • Prepare dependable cost estimates for changes in manufacturing methods
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, EEOC, and other Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies, in addition to application certification issued for ISO 14001 and TS16949.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in product management, business administration, or mechanical engineering.

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • 7+ years of related manufacturing and materials experience.
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
    • Ability to collect data, establish facts, define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage all daily activities within the Focused Factory
    • Partner with the site functional managers to ensure employees who have dual reporting lines have clear expectations and roles and responsibilities
    • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and visitors, while complying with all governmental regulations and Tenneco policies for EHS
    • Create a culture of zero in the focus factory – zero accidents, zero defects, zero later orders and zero waste.
    • Ensures the quality system for the area is maintained to meet ISO9001/IATF16949 standards
    • Ensure products are manufactured on time and according to customer quality requirements to ensure the customer delivery schedule is met
    • Manage the financial aspects of the Focused Factory (AOP, capital, etc.)
    • Champion of continuous improvement activities within the Focused Factory (TBS, CI, Lean and Cost Deployment)
    • Work with the staff to set Focused Factory AOP goals, reviews and maintains a pipeline of continuous improvement projects such that the AOP targets are met or exceeded
    • Drive the competencies of the Tenneco Business System to develop and execute systems and processes that meet or exceed the Focused Factory goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost and material control
    • Plans and manages delivery requirements, inventory levels, labor productivity and asset utilization
    • Drive safety through the proper use of machines, tools and equipment. Appraise technological developments and investigate feasibility of new equipment and techniques for improvements in manufacturing methods
    • Ensure quality assurance and engineering control functions are in place to ensure product reliability and conformance to customer and federal specifications in the most effective and economical manner possible
    • Champion the development of all team members, mentor employee performance and establish development and improvement plans
    • Prepare and report out regularly in Focused Factory and plant wide communication meetings
    • Works with new product development to launch programs into production
