    Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated ENGINEERING focused student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience working at our fast paced Manufacturing facility located in ATHENS, AL. This position is part-time during the semester.

     

    The Tenneco student program provides a unique opportunity for students to learn, work, and contribute in an industry leading environment. As an intern working at Tenneco, you will be an active member on your team.     Possible responsibilities include:

    • Troubleshooting equipment and developing process improvements
    • Writing work instructions
    • Supporting Manufacturing Engineers
    • Researching and pursuing opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement for the plant through the use of Lean Manufacturing principles.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED OF AN INTERN: Must be able to work independently and in a team based environment Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Excellent problem solving and analytical skills Effective time management skills Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

    Required Experience

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher Ability to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship period Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
