  • Responsibilities

    Work as part of a team having the responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Team assemblers will perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis. May participate in making management decisions affecting the work. Team Leaders who work as a part of the team should be included.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Adhere to safety, environmental and company regulations.
    • Maintain a good attendance, safety and discipline record.
    • Inspect work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
    • Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
    • Position, adjust, and secure stock material or work pieces against stops, on arbors, or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually or using hoists.
    • Start machines and turn hand wheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
    • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or work pieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
    • Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
    • Measure, weigh and count products and materials.
    • Inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
    • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
    • Discard or reject products or not meeting specifications and inform supervisor of deficiency.
    • Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails and hand tools.
    • Sequence, load and audit materials for shipment to customer.
    • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts.
    • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

    Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).

    Documenting/Recording Information

    Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.

    Required Experience

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or General Education Development certificate. 1 to 3 years of progressive manufacturing experience.
