Stamping Engineer
Job Description
Supervise the onboarding and launching of stamping dies and related manufacturing
processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and build tooling inventory (perishable and non-perishable).
- Participate in customer meetings concerning quality, scheduling, or tooling issues.
- Actively participate in daily production meetings, continuous improvement, management review and executive safety.
- Reviews tooling suppliers’ process, tool construction, and negotiates with assigned suppliers to meet cost targets. Thorough understanding of mold-making materials and tool component fabrication techniques.
- Lead the improvement of productivity and quality of pressing part manufacturing, and tooling techniques.
- Work closely with the product development team to create robust part designs that support high volume tooling.
- Support onsite troubleshooting and process window studies.
- Provide support across multiple product programs.
- Be Continuous Improvement Driver.
- Participate in product launches to ensure a smooth transition from design and launch phases into manufacturing. Develop PFMEA’s to identify and minimize any potential issues.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 year experience on stamping processes within automotive industry
- Spoken & written English is mandatory
- Knowledge of AQPQ / VDA process
- Concept of process capability, concept of PFMEA
- Manufacturing processes, equipment & tooling specification
- Product and Process knowledge
- Availability to travel
