    We are looking for an experienced manufacturing engineer to join our team in our Kettering, OH facility.  This position requires a goal-oriented Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) capable of working independently and as a team leader.  Projects will include cost reduction strategies, design and process standardization, tooling standardization, etc. Will coordinate Design for Manufacturing meetings between engineering, manufacturing and AME.   Will work on projects in various stages including design reviews, quoting the manufacturing process, development of equipment and tooling with suppliers and coordination or launch into the manufacturing facility.

    Required Skills

    Required Skills:

    • Experience working with equipment and tooling suppliers.  Tasks are SOW, RFQ, kickoff, runoff and installation.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability.
    • Proficiency with PC applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and flow charting software.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and opportunities, develop plans and successfully implement solutions.
    • Manufacturing process development, fixture design, tooling/gage design, and equipment design.
    • Self-motivated, ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations, ability to establish and maintain budgets, Project management skills.
    • Knowledge and understanding of metal forming and manufacturing processes.
    • Assembly, welding and manufacturing cell design experience.
    • Ability to make effective presentations to a wide variety of audiences including senior mangers, customers and employee groups.
    • Knowledge of CAD and computer based engineering tools a plus.
    • Hands on knowledge of SAP a plus.
    • Controls and automation knowledge.  Hands on expertise a plus.
    • Hands on technical knowledge of After-Treatment devices, mufflers and pipe bending is a plus
    • Ability to obtain certification in Lean for Manufacturing, Lean Product Development and Six Sigma Green Belt
    • Ability to travel in support of job function (plants, customers, suppliers etc.) Some International travel required

    Required Experience

    • Bachelors degree in engineering
    • Manufacturing experience (Automotive experience highly preferred)
