    Job Description

    The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the software and electronics engineering team and efforts related to current and future product lines supporting advanced projects and customer development programs and manufacturing with technical assistance in all phases of producing a zero defect product at a competitive cost.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage the Software and Electronics Engineering portion of Global Controls resources in achieving acceptance from initial design proposals through customer production approval, utilizing design practices which yield statistically controllable product.
    • Manage a global team of Software and Electronics engineers utilizing state of the art automatic code generation and HIL simulators.
    • Provide technical assistance in the areas of software and electronics design, quality, and specifications by issuance of Functional Requirements Documents (FRD), Software Requirements Documents (SRD), DVP, DFMEAs and supporting the DFMEA process.
    • Foster continuous improvement of tools providing consistent and robust products and supporting the goal of zero defects and improved engineering productivity.
    • Drive the implementation of ALM tools and new standards such as ISO26262, AutoSAR and cybersecurity.
    • Direct Value Analysis, Cost Reduction and Product Improvement programs required to protect and expand existing product lines
    • Travel up to 15%
    • Dual locations - Monroe, Michigan and two (2) days per week in Grass Lake, MI
    • Other duties as needed

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering, Software Engineer or equivalent
    • Minimum of 10 years' automotive engineering experience with at least 3 years’ supervisory experience
    • At least 3 years’ Project Management experience
    • Previous background in both Engineering and Manufacturing functions in fields related to divisional products
    • Global/International program experience
