POSITION TITLE :: QA ENGINEER (ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE)

LOCATION :: BURBANK, CA

CLIENT :: PRODUCERS-WRITERS GUILD ASSOCIATION

EXTERNAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Transformational Custom Development, important to note this is not an enhancement project

• Small team of highly skilled Development Engineers – the Dev team has expertise in data, UI, Architecture, Web, and integrated Web Development

• Currently there are 2 QAs who support, Dev Team, BSA Team and Business

• JIRA is the tool used for SCRUM development

• All requirements are written in JIRA Stories, attached to an EPIC Hierarchy, which is attached to JIRA Portfolio Initiative

• Formal Scrum Team: Scrum Master, Product Owner, Architect, Data Dev, UI Dev, Integration Dev, and Legacy Dev, QA

• Not a pure Scrum environment, however, the agile environment is disciplined

• Small QA team with each team member having 6-8yrs experience, looking for additional QAs to complement existing team

TEAM EXPECTATIONS:

• Ability to work independently and create structure as required, however, is not dependent upon a structured environment

• Flexibility with work assignments, as Scope may change from Sprint to Sprint

• Ability to work independently and have experience across the STLC lifecycle

• Ability to relate to all levels of management, targeting communication at the appropriate level as required

• Work in the spirt of Scrum Agile from the standpoint of flexibility and collaboration… everyone owns everything…..

SKILL-SET:

• Must be an experienced QA Tester with working knowledge of testing, documenting, verifying, recording and researching

• Must be an experienced proof-reader with excellent verifying skills

• Must have a very good background in writing grammatically correct English, this position will be expected to QA written language and standard business format on letters and other documents on a continuous basis

• Must be able to create, organize, translate, simplify test case requirements

• Must be able to track and monitor testing results

• Must be an independent worker who is able to take direction, ask succinct questions (remembering the dev team is highly skilled and accustom to working with experienced team members)

• Must be able to work in an unstructured environment and remain flexible to meet the needs of an experienced Dev team, BSA Team and a business team who are subject matter experts in their business function, but may be new to development projects.

• Must have Agile Experience

• Must have STLC experience across the lifecycle

• Must have API testing experience

• Must have DB testing experience

• Must have UI testing experience

• Must have an understanding of basic SQL

• Must have User Acceptance experience, such as, writing test cases, working with business and development teams

• Must have smoke test and regression test experience

• Desirable - have experience testing mobile development (IOS and Android)

• Desirable – JIRA Experience

• Desirable – data experience

• Desirable - analytical with both requirement / business function understanding and technical expertise

• Desirable – Automation Testing Experience

• Desirable – Insurance, Banking, or Pension application development experience

• Continuous Development Experience is a plus

• Familiarity with BDD and / or TDD testing a plus

• Experience with Selenium Automation or Test Studio a plus
