POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position has a responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing software tests for multiple projects through to successful completion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Evaluate software engineering processes and implement best practices to improve the end to end delivery of our applications and products.

• Own test engineering infrastructure, tools and frameworks, environments, best practices and processes

• Develop test strategies and test scope

• Automate tests using test frameworks

• Write moderately complex code/scripts to test services and APIs

• Take responsibility for monitoring product development and usage at all levels with an eye toward improving product quality

• Analyze and decompose a complicated software system and design a strategy to test it

• Promote and build a culture of testing within the development team

• Enable development teams to write quality code by partnering with them and building testing mindset as well as automated testing tools

• Develop any supporting tools, services or infrastructure needed to augment automation

• Continuously monitor technology landscape to assess and implement improvements to existing tools/processes

• Build continuous delivery pipelines and related infrastructure

• Partner with Software architects and lead engineers to develop intuitive solutions

• Provide guidance and feedback in form of code reviews, technical talks and mentorship

• Define and uses metrics to assess deliverables and software releases.

• Create tools and infrastructure for Performance (load/stress/capacity/failover) testing

• Decompose complex and/or ambiguous requirements or issues and drill down to determine the root cause and resolution

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks and results as needed.

• Create user test cases as needed for User Acceptance Testing as well as Functional Testing

REQUIREMENTS:

• 6+ years of testing experience

• PROFICIENT WITH TEST-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT (TDD)

• Deep knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging/testing in distributed systems

• EXPERIENCE IN AUTOMATION OF API AND DB TESTING (e.g. RESTful APIs & SQL databases)

• EXPERIENCE WITH AUTOMATION TEST (TELERIK TEST STUDIO PREFERRED).

• EXPERIENCE WITH MODULAR DRIVEN FRAMEWORK

• EXPERIENCE WITH PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION (PII) AND HIPAA WOULD BE PREFERRED

• EXPERIENCE WITH C#.

• Experience in Web App automation and browser compatibility testing (IE, Chrome, FF)

• EXPERIENCE WORKING IN AN AGILE TEAM

• PROFICIENT WITH SQL.

• Mobile testing a plus

• Experience with Rally.

• Experience in performance, scalability and stress testing at the system level

• Self-directed and require minimal supervision

• High attention to detail

• BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE OR RELATED FIELD
