POSITION: Part Time Aftercare Teacher at Cascadia Montessori School, in Redmond, Washington, near Microsoft headquarters.

 IDEAL: For the individual who is passionate about seeing children grow, and who enjoys some creative freedom to plan creative games and activities. 

 PREPARATION: Experience working with children through camps, nanny experience, or preschool programs. 
 RESPONSIBILITIES: Care for all PreK thru 5th grade children in the aftercare program. This care will include, checking the children in and out of care, preparing snack, watching the children during outside recess, planning inside activities for all ages, assisting in some light cleaning. 

 PERSONALITY: This person needs to have a positive, professional, flexible attitude; work well and collaborate with others; and be willing to "go above and beyond." Strong organizational skills a must. Good classroom management skills necessary along with ability to instill a feeling of calm, order and focus in the classroom. Gracious verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, students, and parents. 

SCHOOL YEAR: The school year begins at the end of August and continues to approximately mid-June. There are typically 170 school days, approximately an additional 8 staff work days, approximately a three week Winter Break, and a one week-Spring Break.

 WORK HOURS: Part time from 3:00 am to 6:15 pm- with an option to come in an hour or two earlier if interested in clerical work. 
Other optional work hours include school camps during breaks and during the summer.

 SALARY: $17 to $20 per hour depending on experience
