Job Description
We are looking for an experienced senior staff accountant with a background in construction accounting. We are seeking a well-qualified, well rounded individual who thrives in a small office environment. Someone who is confident in assuming all of our bookkeeping needs as well as in his/her abilities to make decisions and provide feedback.
This key individual will be responsible for the overall operations of the accounting department and will play an essential role in ensuring that all financial responsibilities are complete and accurate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements (Income, Balance & Cash Flow Statements)
A/P and A/R management, monthly account reconciliations of GL and bank statements, payroll, fringe payments, vendor W-9 forms, etc.
General Ledger Maintenance
Experience with prevailing wage, insurance and union rules and procedures
Post journal entries/cash receipts
Process weekly payroll, and reports, payroll tax filing, quarterly & annual reports including preparation of W-2's
Experience with certified payroll, Union and labor compliance reporting
Review pay applications for accurate compliance to contracts and coding. Track and process lien releases
Maintain payment relationship with vendors and subcontractors, preparation of 1099’s
Confirm subcontractor compliance documentation prior to issuing payment; process outgoing vendor and subcontractor payments on a timely basis
Assist in all annual audits and review of financial statements
Perform routine administrative duties such as data entry, filing, scanning, and faxing documents
Maintain flexibility and openness to learn and take on additional projects as necessary
Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skills, written and verbal.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 3 years experience as Bookkeeper/Accountant
Minimum 2 years Construction Accounting experience
Knowledge of Timberline/Sage Accounting Software (preferred)
Attention to detail, organization, prioritization and time management skills
Individual must be a self-starter, quick learner with a positive attitude
Must be able to multi-task efficiently and effectively
Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skills, written and verbal
