    So, what will a Nurse Practitioner at Terrestris do?

    You will provide comprehensive healthcare services as a Nurse Practitioner at the Fayetteville, NC VA Medical Center, focusing on delivering patient-centered care to our nation's veterans. You will conduct thorough assessments, diagnose and treat various medical conditions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and personalized care. Your responsibilities will include managing chronic illnesses, prescribing medications, and promoting preventive health measures. Additionally, you will engage in patient education, offering support and guidance to veterans and their families. As a dedicated healthcare professional, you will uphold the highest standards of ethical and evidence-based practice, contributing to the overall well-being of the veteran community.

    What does a typical day look like for a Physician Assistant look like?

    You will:

    • Perform comprehensive health assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations, to evaluate and diagnose patients.
    • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
    • Prescribe and manage medications based on patient needs, ensuring adherence to VA guidelines and policies.
    • Deliver primary healthcare services, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and the management of acute and chronic conditions.
    • Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment plans, and preventive measures to enhance overall well-being.
    • Facilitate referrals to specialty services within the VA system, ensuring seamless continuity of care for veterans.
    • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress using the VA's electronic health record system.
    • Attend meetings with healthcare teams to discuss patient cases, treatment strategies, and overall clinic operations.
    • Contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of care provided by participating in quality improvement projects and initiatives.
    • Stay updated on VA policies, regulations, and clinical guidelines to ensure compliance and provide high-quality, veteran-centered care.

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the leader we're looking for if you have:

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.
    • Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
    • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
    • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of North Carolina.
    • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized certifying body (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
    • Relevant clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a similar healthcare setting.
    • Ability to collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
    • Familiarity with and adherence to collaborative practice agreements, as required by state regulations.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • Familiarity and proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
    • Understanding and adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing nursing practice.
